We have made changes to the input, output, content, and format of the Geocoding Services.
To accommodate these changes, the Texas A&M GeoServices Service API's have all been upgraded to version 3.01. This includes the Geocoding API, Address Parsing and Normalization API, and Census Variable Intersection API. All API URL's have been updated and are listed on the respective API page for each service.
All users should begin to migrate their web services calls to use these new versions. API Versions prior to 2.96 will be disabled in 30 days - 2.95, 2.94, etc. API Version 2.96 will be disabled in 90 days. A new desktop geocoding client is available on the download page.
The most significant changes to the WebGIS Geocoding API are as follows:
-
National Parcel Data have been added. The spatial accuracy of the geocoding results should vastly improve for the majority of the US.
- Output fields for the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR)GIS Coordinate Quality Code and Census Tract Certainty data items have been added.
- The Geocoding API has been simplified dramatically to include just the most commonly requested fields (click here to view the Simplified Geocoding API). A Detailed Advanced Geocoding API is now available that contains all of the fields that were previously have been removed from the new Simplified Geocoding API.
