Another HTTP API has been added for the geocoder to allow users to specify the advanced options. Information is available on the geocoding API page; look for API #3 at the bottom.

This API allows the user to specify if they want substring, soundex, and attribute relaxation to be used. If attribute relaxation is selected, the user can specify which attributes are allowed to be relaxed. It also allows the user to pick their feature matching hierarchy.
