The 'Geocoding Best Practices Guide' book has been released by the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR). This book was written by Daniel W. Goldberg, the creator of the Texas A&M WebGIS site and services. It details the in's and out's of all elements of the geocoding process, from the main technical components to the sources of error and how to negate them.
