Geo-empower your apps & data

The Texas A&M University GeoServices website provides access to services based on the latest cutting-edge research taking place in our lab. The services offered focus foremost on the production and accuracy of geographic data.

We know that lots of places offer similar resources. If you care about the quality of your data, we provide the services that you want.

Geocoding

Geocoding converts your postal data into geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude). This is our bread and butter here at Texas A&M. We live and breathe this stuff, for real. Process single addresses interactively, databases of records at a time, or call our APIs with your own code. Thousands of apps and individuals use these services on a daily basis; you should too!

Address Processing

Address processing is a necessary part of geocoding. It's the first step, and quite useful on its own if you have a list of addresses you need formatted all the same. We offer address parsing and address standardization services that will take unstructured addresses as input and return the parsed (separated) pieces in standardized formats. Interactive, batch, and API access available.

Reverse Geocoding

Reverse geocoding will do what it sounds like - take your latitude longitude data and give you back the postal address to which it belongs. You could use this service to find the postal address associated with GPS coordinates within your mobile app, for example. Interactive, batch, and API access available. This is the newest of our service releases, let us know how it goes!

Census Intersection

What good is geocoded data if you don't do something with it? None, that's what. The absolutely most simple thing that you can do is intersect your geocoded output with Census tract boundaries to figure out which Census tract the geocoded location is located within. Extremely simple, but yet the basis for most research that uses geocoded data. Yep, interactive, batch, and API access available.

Geocoding Correction

Geocoding didn't work? What do you mean, that's impossible! Just kidding - our geocoder fails on some cases just like everybody else's. Our geocoding correction tools let you zip through your geocoded data files and correct records that didn't work well using a web-based mapping interface. It's quick we swear; we have a set of kids who can do this full time for you if you don't want to.

k-Nearest Neighbors

Again, why would you geocode your data if you're not going to do anything with it? You wouldn't that's why. One of the coolest things that you can do is find out what is close to your lat/lon locations. "Why would you do this?", you ask. You might want to know which are the closest 5 radiation facilities if you are doing cancer accessibility research, that's why!

Drag & Drop Mapping

And Again, why would you geocode your data if you're not going to do anything with it? You wouldn't that's why. One of the most common questions we are asked is "How can I see my addresses on a map now that I have them geocoded? We have answered your call and now provide a simple drag and drop option to view your geocoded points on a map.
